It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Finance and Banking at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science – Tiji, University of Zintan. Our department offers distinguished educational programs to our students, taught by a distinguished group of specialized professors.
The department works on developing students' understanding of societal issues through education that instills in them independent thinking and a sense of responsibility, and equips them with continuous learning skills that will benefit them in their future lives.
Through their studies in the department, students acquire many experiences that help them in their fields of graduation in the Department of Finance and Banking to meet the needs of the labor market with specialized cadres in the field of finance and banking. We always strive to equip our students with skills and knowledge that keep pace with the latest methods of university education, its requirements, and objectives.
In conclusion, we confidently and ambitiously aim through this academic program to achieve its intended goals, which reflect the educational process in Libyan universities.

Description
The Department of Finance and Banking at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science – Tiji is one of the relatively modern academic departments at the college. It aims to graduate specialized scientific competencies in various financial sciences. The department grants a bachelor's degree in finance and banking to meet the society's need for competencies and expertise, and to keep pace with developments in this field, resulting in improved business and investment environments. It also aims to diversify the outputs of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science to suit the labor market and society.
In addition to its specialized academic role, the department organizes conferences, seminars, and scientific consultations for various community institutions. It also contributes to focusing on economic and financial development in the Libyan state, as well as preparing leadership cadres in the field of finance and banking and introducing Islamic banking and electronic banking, with a focus on behavioral and ethical aspects while considering the global perspective.
Therefore, the program courses are designed according to the latest global market developments and in alignment with the values of Libyan society.
The department was established as part of the academic departments approved by the decision of the Council of Ministers No. (13) for the year 2017 for the establishment of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science – Tiji. The first batch graduated from the department in the Spring of 2023. The department includes six faculty members, all of whom are nationals and graduates of various Libyan universities.

To be a leader in the academic and research fields, and in providing consultations in the field of financial and banking sciences, while also contributing to economic and societal development.

- Introducing students to the general framework of finance, which involves the procurement of funds and keeping up with scientific developments in the fields of finance and banking.
- Familiarizing students with local and international financial and monetary institutions, and emphasizing international financial and banking practices and applications.
- Qualifying and graduating academic and professional competencies in the field of finance and banking that can meet the needs of the labor market and society.
- Introducing students to scientific theories in studying the performance of enterprises to be used in the investment decision-making process.
- Developing the research skills of program students, enabling them to prepare research in finance and banking to serve the community and environment.
- Equipping students with essential skills in conducting theoretical and field research in finance and banking using scientific research techniques to analyze and interpret financial phenomena.
- Participating in scientific conferences and holding seminars for the purpose of developing financial and investment work and benefiting from experts in this field.
